the election… a social event
We had a great time watching the debates and election with friends this year!  We had two depate parties and an election party.  On election night we had at least 25 people stop by throughout the night.  There were two tv’s, people sitting andywhere and everywhere and good food and drinks.  Some people couldn’t come because they were brave enough to make their way down to Grant Park!  It was so much find to watch candidates and discuss issues with so many caring, intelligent and engaged friends.

Why was it so amazing? There is the historical significance of having the first African-American president. That, in and of itself, is something that I never thought I…read more
Learning how to stand

shiya’s tiny little thumb
shiya had to have stiches on Friday because he got his thums stuck in a metal bell at daycare. He stuck his thumb into the bell, and it caught on the metal edges when he was trying to pull it out. you would never have known that he had a jagged cut on two sides of his thumb because he was crawling around like nothing was wrong! I took him to the emergency room and he was so happy, that they assumed I was over-reacting. When the dr. saw his…read more
