The Murphy Boys

three times!!!

Posted by in Uncategorized

This morning I let Shiya walk around the house without a diaper on. All of the sudden he walked up to me and started babbling excitedly and moving his hands around. I was babbling back when I realized he was making the sign language motion for ‘diaper change’, so I scooped him up and ran to the bathroom. He went to the bathroom on the toilet! Another time today he made the sign for diaper change and ran out of the bedroom. So I ran after him, scooped him up…read more

animals have spring fever too

We went to the zoo today and I realized that animals get spring fever too! There were not many people at the zoo, but every animal we saw was out of it’s cage, roaring, pacing, swimming and entertaining.

playground season is upon us

Posted by in Uncategorized

Playground season is back!  My rule is that we try to get outside if it is 40 degrees or higher, and I think we are pretty safely going to hit 40 most days from now on.  So yesterday we went to the playground in Lincoln Square, about a mile and a half away.  I had to buy Shiya new shoes because none of Ayrie’s shoes fit him right now.  So we stopped at a shoe store on the way home from the playground.

Porch snacks

I’m and Aries and Shiya is a  Scorpio.  Time will tell but some of this sounds pretty right on to our existing dynamic. You and your Scorpio child share passionate natures, but you feel and express your passions quite differently. You’re both independent, but your little Scorpio is far more emotionally complex than you are, a fact that will bear remembering as you raise him. You’re honest and upfront about your true feelings, so you might easily forget that your Scorpio child tends to hide his — at least, until…read more

An Aries mom with an Aquarius child

Posted by in Uncategorized

I’m and Aries and Ayrie is and Aquarius.  Pretty close to our reality, actually! It’s rare for you and your Aquarius child to spend a quiet afternoon at home. With your natural energy, your little one’s love of the wide, weird world, and your mutual need for freedom, adventure, and independence, lazing around just isn’t an option. There’s too much to be discovered! You’re both always ready for a new experience, and your little Aquarius is naturally social, so parties and playdates are a good time for both of you….read more
